TRUMPET CALL II Day of Prayer

Langley Christians blow the Trumpet
And Tony Blair is listening

A coach load of members of the Langley churches travelled to the NEC Arena in Birmingham on 18th June to share in Trumpet Call II, the National Day of Prayer and Proclamation for the UK and the World.

There were two themes of the day. We all blew the trumpets physically and spiritually to call God’s people together, to go into spiritual battle and to celebrate and to expect the walls standing against God and his people to fall down like the walls of Jericho. Secondly, we all fired spiritual arrows for victory taking as our example of the word given by the prophet Elisha to King Jehoash in 2 Kings 13: 14. We fired the arrows and blew the trumpets for our nation, for the world, for the poor, for the church and for Africa.

Tony Blair wasn’t there, but he too recognized that the trumpets were being blown. In his speech to the European Parliament on 23rd June, he said,

“It is time to give ourselves a reality check. To receive the wake-up call. The people are blowing the trumpets round the city walls. Are we listening?”

Christians in the Langley churches continue to blow their trumpets to bring down the walls erected against God and his church.
